Material Coordinator

The Blueprint (Role Profile)

Supports materials, planning, production, and quality areas of the business by safely moving material in response to customer demand and coordinating customer returns. This is a 1st shift position, working Monday through Thursday 6 AM to 4 PM daily.

The Build (Responsibilities)

  • Operate lift truck to move/stack material in and between departments throughout the plant.
  • Safety load and unload trucks/containers.
  • Perform regular cycle counts as requested.
  • Assist in performing annual physical audits.
  • Process and package returns, maintaining accurate records and submitting reports as required.
  • Pull materials from, and return them to, the proper location based on appropriate production orders.
  • Segregate and dispose of scrap, chip hoppers, and trash waste as required.
  • Complete timely and accurate reporting including quality, inventory, scrap, and other recordkeeping.
  • Serve as back-up for shipping/receiving and material handling as needed.
  • Adhere to company policies and procedures to produce a quality product including reporting non-conforming materials and scrap.
  • Report unusual conditions or questionable items to supervisor.
  • Adhere to all safety rules and regulations.
  • Keep work area clean and orderly; perform daily 5S assignments.
  • Perform other duties as requested, directed, or assigned.

 

The Toolbox (Qualifications)

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum 1 year of similar work experience.
  • Previous forklift experience is required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Knowledge of SAP is preferred.
  • Work overtime hours (more than 40 hours per week) including Fridays or Saturdays.
  • Stand and walk continuously for 8 hours.
  • Climb stairs and ladders.
  • Lift and move up to 50 pounds.
