The Blueprint (Role Profile)

Reporting to the Manager, Commercial Finance, we are looking for a highly analytical and detail-oriented Finance Analyst to join our team. In this role, you will be a key driver of data-driven decision-making across the organization. You will leverage data to analyze business processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and provide actionable insights to enhance efficiency, profitability, and customer understanding using financial analysis techniques, tools, and concepts, to provide practical counsel to business partners and management to drive business results. The selected candidate will provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting & analysis of business unit performance versus historical, budgeted, and forecasted results, as well as assist in annual budgeting and forecasting activities. This position can be based in any of the following: Sparks, MD; Huntersville, NC; Apex, NC.

The Build (Responsibilities)

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, sales, and operations, to identify business challenges and define data requirements.
  • Collect, clean, and analyze large and complex datasets from various sources, such as sales figures, marketing campaigns, and customer behavior.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reports using data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI to track key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide real-time insights.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights related to consumer preferences, market opportunities, and competitive dynamics.
  • Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders and senior management in a clear, concise, and compelling manner.
  • Develop and implement data models to forecast future trends and evaluate the impact of strategic initiatives.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and data analysis methodologies.

The Toolbox (Qualifications)

  • BS degree in relevant field required (Accounting, Finance, or Business Analytics, Data Science, Statistics strongly preferred)
  • 2+ years’ experience in reporting, consolidation and financial analysis in a data-centric role preferably within the consumer goods or retail industry.
  • Working knowledge of corporate financial planning and reporting processes required
  • Hyperion Planning & Essbase Experience preferred, super-user experience a plus
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Office (strong emphasis on Excel) required
  • ERP experience preferred (SAP strongly preferred)
  • Experience in the development and maintenance of financial reports using analytic applications or other source databases a plus
  • Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, Excel).
  • Experience with statistical programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python, R) for data manipulation and analysis a plus.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
