The Blueprint (Role Profile)

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Demand Planning, the Demand Planner will own customer-specific demand forecasts for key North American retail accounts. This role partners closely with Sales and Account Teams to translate retailer demand signals—including POS, promotions, and inventory positions—into accurate forecasts that support service, fill rate, and growth objectives.

The Build (Responsibilities)

  • Own and manage SKU and customer-level demand plans for assigned North American retail accounts
  • Analyze customer-specific demand drivers, including promotions, resets, and seasonal programs. Incorporate retailer POS, inventory, and sell-through data into forecasts.
  • Utilize the Kinaxis demand planning system, Tableau reporting, and SAP/BW to manage the forecasting and analytics process.
  • Develop an 18-month SKU and customer-level forecast utilizing historical demand, retailer POS trends, promotional calendars, and new product introductions
  • Collaborate with Sales teams to review exceptions and align forecasts. Partner with Sales and Account Teams to incorporate retailer-specific promotions, replenishment strategies, and customer demand insights into forecasts. Work with cross-functional teams including Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Supply Planning to achieve fill rate targets.
  • Serve as the demand planning point of contact for assigned retail customers, supporting forecast discussions and demand alignment with Sales
  • Lead a monthly demand review to align forecasts, risks, and opportunities across Sales, Supply Planning, and Channel.
  • Analyze orders versus forecast to determine root cause and changes to future forecasts.
  • Improve forecast accuracy and retail service performance by identifying root causes of forecast error, in-stock gaps, and customer order volatility

The Toolbox (Qualifications)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in demand planning or sales analytics in a consumer’s products environment preferred
  • Experience supporting retail customers, account teams, or customer-specific forecasting within a consumer products environment preferred
  • Ability to translate retail customer insights into actionable forecasts preferred
  • Previous experience as a leader or participant operating within a Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process and framework preferred
  • Supply chain or sales analytics experience within a retail environment preferred
  • Working knowledge of Demand Planning and Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) systems, experience with Kinaxis preferred
  • Experience with SAP and BW preferred
  • Tableau Reporting experience preferred
  • Travel up to 10%
