The role of Regional Sales Manager is a newly formed position that will serve as an instrumental part of our Weller sales team. This role will report directly to the Director of North American Sales and have responsibility for all sales efforts within their geographical region. This is a remote position, but the winning candidate must be located within their region of responsibility. The Regional Sales Manager will work closely with the Director of Sales, our Weller manufacturer’s sales representatives, Weller Distributors, the ATG hand tool sales team, Weller marketing, ATG operations, customer service, and various other support teams. The Regional Sales Manager will be responsible for customer-facing calls with end users, building strong relationships with our distributors, and managing our manufacturer reps. This role is all about creating an environment for sales success, responding to customer needs, and outshining our competitors, with a particular focus on end-user conversions and winning competitive bids.

The Build (Responsibilities)
- Identify growth opportunities, assess customer needs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver customized solutions that drive revenue and strengthen customer relationships.
- Take ownership of strategic end-user accounts within the territory, developing and implementing tailored account management plans.
- Proactively listen to and understand the customer’s needs to identify appropriate solutions, provide technical support, and enhance our value to those customers.
- Directly manage a team of sales agents, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure individual and collective success in meeting sales targets and objectives.
- Work with key distributor partners to convert customers, drive Weller sales, and gain market share.
- Achieve profitable revenue growth within your assigned geography by developing creative sales solutions and programs, working closely with the Director of Sales and Channel Marketing.
- Lead recruitment efforts to identify and onboard new sales agents, conduct interviews, evaluate candidates, and select individuals who align with the company's values and objectives.
- Obtain and maintain excellent product knowledge to present the entire Weller Professional product line, demonstrating strong technical knowledge regarding function and application.
- Maintain knowledge of key competitors, their products, pricing, and strategies as they relate to our Weller Professional products.
- Implement performance metrics and KPIs to evaluate the effectiveness of each sales agent and end-user visit outcomes, providing regular feedback and implementing corrective actions as necessary to optimize performance.
- Facilitate communication channels between sales agents and distributors to ensure alignment on sales strategies, product knowledge, and customer needs.
- Provide forecasting by category for ongoing business, new business, and potential opportunities to ensure product availability.
- Report on activity utilizing Salesforce as a CRM tool within the territory, user feedback, trends, competitive actions, and any recommendations to improve productivity.
- Participate as needed in national sales meetings, corporate meetings, and customer business review meetings.
- Attend business-related trade shows to build the brand and sell Weller products and solutions.
The Toolbox (Qualifications)
- BS in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field, or the equivalent of 5+ years of outside sales or sales engineer experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Professional Value-Based Selling.
- Industrial and/or manufacturing outside sales experience.
- 2+ years of experience managing direct salespeople and/or manufacturers’ reps.
- Mechanical and technical aptitude, with the ability to effectively engage in technical discussions.
- Prior experience in industrial and/or manufacturing outside sales, with an understanding of electronics OEM, EMS, or industrial markets.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Exceptional computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.)
- Ability to spend 50% -60% of the time in the field selling, nurturing deals, identifying new opportunities, customer meetings, etc.
