The Blueprint (Role Profile)

This position is responsible for the precision machining of tooling and components that support production, ensuring tight tolerances and high-quality standards in a fast-paced toolmaker environment at our Nogales, AZ, manufacturing plant.

The Build (Responsibilities)

  • Mechanical knowledge
  • Be able to machine parts from prints
  • Be able to machine parts from samples
  • Be able to machine parts to a tolerance of +/-0.005
  • Work accurately in a timely manner
  • Keep a well-organized and neat workplace
  • Knowledgeable in surface grinder operation
  • Proficient at milling machines with digital read out
  • Proficient at lathe operations
  • Able to read all machinist-measuring tools
  • Proficient “CNC” milling machining operations
  • Able to write / read “CNC conversational” machine code
  • Ability to perform all duties un-supervised in a professional, timely manner
  • Able to speak and understand English

The Toolbox (Qualifications)

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2 year as a Machinist, or completion of a machine shop trade school
  • Knowledge of basic hydraulics and pneumatics.
  • Able to read and interpret engineering drawings.
  • Capable of working to extremely close tolerances.
  • Able to work overtime (more than 40 hours per week) including Saturdays as required.
  • Stand and walk continuously for 8 hours, if necessary.
  • Climb stairs and ladders.
  • Lift and carry 50 pounds.
  • Able to operate forklifts and aerial lift equipment.
