The Blueprint (Role Profile)
The Cleco/Apex Finance Director is responsible for the overall financial health, strategic business planning, capital allocation, and risk management of the global Cleco/Apex business. He/she is a vital business partner to the Cleco/Apex Senior Vice President (a $230M global company operating in Europe, North America and Asia).
The Finance Director is responsible for translating high-level business goals into measurable financial plans, secure capital for expansion, and safeguard company assets through strong governance and internal controls. The Finance Director will own the unit's financial planning, forecasting, budgeting, and profitability analysis, ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide financial objectives. He/she will lead a Finance team distributed across Europe, North America and Asia. He/she will have a solid reporting line to the ATG CFO and a heavy dotted line to the Cleco/Apex Senior Vice President.

The Build (Responsibilities)
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A): Lead annual budgeting, long-term strategic planning, and quarterly budget updates
- Performance Management: Track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), analyze variances between actual results and forecasts, and deliver actionable insights to drive margin expansion and cost control
- Commercial Decision Support: Evaluate pricing strategies, capital expenditure requests, new product launches, and potential business development deals
- Operations Oversight: Be responsible for budgeting, planning, and controls for manufacturing and distribution facilities
- Financial Control & Compliance: Ensure accurate monthly financial close, strict adherence to GAAP, and robust internal controls in coordination with corporate accounting
- Team Leadership: Build, manage, and mentor a high-performing team of financial analysts and local accounting staff
The Toolbox (Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; MBA or Master’s degree preferred
- Professional certification such as CPA, CMA, or CFA a plus
- 10–15+ years of progressive corporate finance experience, with at least 3–5 years supporting a specific business unit, division, or operational matrix
- Advanced proficiency in SAP and advanced financial modeling via Excel/BI tools
- 15-25% within the region and internationally
