Apex Tool Group is currently looking for an Associate Manager, Brand Activation based in Lexington, SC. The Associate Brand Activation Manager supports the delivery of brand strategies and priorities. They manage assignments to meet objectives under the guidance of a manager. Primary responsibilities at this level include working in cross-functional teams, managing projects, performing business analyses, and tracking, and supporting the overall marketing and management of the brand.

 

The person in this position can expect to work with the Sr. Channel Manager, Sr. Director, Marketing & R&D, Global SBU lead Weller, Sales Leaders, and NAMS, and will report directly to the Sr. Channel Marketing Manager, NA Weller. This role will develop and execute brand / product growth programs focusing of Weller product focus in various markets/channels in North America.

The Build (Responsibilities)

Organization and Talent Management:

  • Participates in learning/training agenda to build capabilities and skills.
  • Completes performance review self-assessment.
  • Communicate effectively cross functionally to build brand.

 

Insights:

  • Collects data and insights such as media consumption trends, emerging tactics and platforms, competitive activity, end user behavior.
  • Creating and execute effective product launches, winning and protecting listings in line reviews, securing new promotional business.
  • Can articulate key brand equity metrics and implications for brand strategies.
  • Actively seek out and understand customer and end-use consumer VOC through regular customer contact.
  • You must have analytical and research skills, as well as attention to detail and the ability to present and speak in public.

 

Brand, Category & Channel Strategy:

  • Collects data and insights to support development of long-term brand vision and strategy.
  • Coordinate with product teams to maintain accurate product data and identify relevant VOC and to successfully target new products and programs to meet end-user needs.
  • Create and drive marketing programs to meet strategic growth objectives and to grow sales among customers (via push programs) and end-users (via pull programs).
  • Monitor/track and analyze the effectiveness of programs to support reporting, course corrections and decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with branding graphic, trademark and communication guidance.
  • Attend trade shows, while performing project management to help ensure successful shows returning a strong ROI.

 

Innovation and Product Portfolio Management:

  • Understands how innovation strategies and product roadmaps link to brand strategy and objectives.
  • Work closely with product teams to effectively launch new products and product promotions
  • Participates in discussions regarding campaign creative and provides feedback on fit with communication objectives.
  • Collects data and summarizes the results of new product activation tactics.

 

Pricing:

  • Understands how pricing is used to reflect brand position and equity goals.
  • Collects data and insights to help inform promotional guardrails and plans.

 

Trade Management:

  • Creates content and gathers data and insights to support selling story development.
  • Assists in the development of assets and selling materials to support channel and customer priorities.
  • Work closely with Sr. Channe and Product management to build brand.

 

Activation:

  • Gathers data and insights for the annual situation assessment that informs the integrated marketing plan.
  • Assists in the execution of brand building and demand creation priorities
  • Has a working knowledge of advertising and creative briefs and how to define clear communication objectives and desired end user response.
  • Collects performance data for marketing initiatives and measures ROI.

 

Financial Management:

  • Analyzes ROI for key activation tactics and identifies performance versus targets.
  • Supports tracking of brand activation spend versus budget targets.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

 

The Toolbox (Qualifications)

  • Four-year college/university degree; potentially a recent MBA graduate with previous business experience.
  • 2+ years of marketing and/or sales/channel experience with consumer goods, durable, or professional products companies.
  • Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing platforms and tactics.
  • Has worked to successfully build awareness and drive trial of new products.
  • Experience in initiating and building mutually beneficial marketing relationships with third parties and or external partners is a plus.
  • Proven ability to deliver data-driven results, analysis, testing and application of findings.
  • Experience creating assets to support brand communication objectives.
  • Excellent presenter (internal staff meetings, customer meetings, etc) with strong written and oral communication skills (emails, flyers, conference calls, etc)
