Quality Engineer

The Blueprint (Role Profile)

New opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer at our Jonesboro, AR facility. This individual will work collaboratively with leadership, quality, operations, customer service, outside vendors, and other applicable parties to drive and sustain Crescent Jobox’s quality management system. The Quality Engineer leads corrective action initiatives and quality improvement.

The Build (Responsibilities)

  • Manage the quality management system, ensuring policy implementation and maintenance and reporting to plant leadership.
  • Communicate with customers, leadership, sales, marketing, and customer service to resolve quality complaints and returned goods issues.
  • Lead corrective action processes to focus on significant improvement opportunities and ensure response timeliness, implementation, and effectiveness.
  • Facilitate the development of procedures and instructions to meet standards and business objectives to improve products and processes standardization; minimize errors, delays, and costs; and prevent defects at all stages of manufacturing process.
  • Create and maintain quality information systems and surveys to track and report key quality KPI’s to support maintenance of standards and business objectives. Analyzes data to identify trends in product quality or defects with the goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence and future defects.
  • Review internal and external quality standards to ensure manufactured products meet and exceed company, government, and customer expectations.
  • Lead projects to improve and maintain the quality management system, driving quality standards for in-process and finished goods products and materials.
  • Support plant inspection, testing, and calibration functions by preparing inspection instructions, sampling plans, statistical analyses, quality standards, quality forms, etc.
  • Maintain quality system documentation, notifying management and associates of issues and revisions affecting them, and maintaining record-keeping compliance.
  • Develop and lead Quality Assurance Protocols for suppliers in coordination with Apex Corporate and Divisional Quality Leaders.
  • Provide training and guidance to associates at all levels.

The Toolbox (Qualifications)

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, or related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of related work experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous experience with quality management systems.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing and one-piece flow production.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across teams and functions.
  • Highly proficient in computer technology, including Microsoft 365 applications and ERP systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous SAP experience.
  • Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) or Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred.
  • Prior experience in machining, fabrication/welding, and/or assembly environment.
  • Previous experience with ISO-9001 quality management systems.
