The Blueprint (Role Profile)

 

Reporting to the VP of NA Sales, the Director of NA Sales – Apex Bits and Sockets is responsible for driving top-line revenue growth and market expansion for APEX’s North American business. This role will lead strategic sales initiatives, strengthen distributor and channel partnerships, and drive customer acquisition across key verticals, including industrial manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, and construction.


This position requires a proven leader with deep experience in scaling sales organizations, executing go-to-market strategies, and optimizing multi-channel distribution models. The Director will work closely with executive leadership, sales, marketing, and product teams to expand APEX’s market presence and position the company for sustained long-term growth.

The Build (Responsibilities)

 

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy to drive market penetration, increase revenue, and expand APEX’s footprint in North America.
  • Deliver measurable revenue growth through a combination of organic sales initiatives, strategic partnerships, and new market development.
  • Lead high-impact commercial initiatives that support APEX’s multi-year growth targets.
  • Oversee APEX’s North American distribution network, ensuring alignment with corporate growth objectives.
  • Optimize distributor relationships through data-driven performance analysis, strategic alignment, and incentive programs that drive sales.
  • Identify, onboard, and scale new channel partners to accelerate revenue expansion.
  • Engage directly with major industrial customers, OEMs, and enterprise accounts to strengthen APEX’s market position.
  • Lead high-stakes negotiations and executive-level engagements to drive large-scale sales opportunities.
  • Ensure a customer-first approach, leveraging industry insights to shape product development and service offerings.
  • Partner with marketing, product management, and finance to refine go-to-market strategies, pricing structures, and sales enablement programs.
  • Build and scale a high-performance sales organization, developing sales processes that support sustained revenue growth.
  • Utilize data analytics, CRM insights, and market intelligence to drive strategic decision-making and optimize sales execution.
  • Identify emerging market trends, competitive threats, and opportunities for differentiation to strengthen APEX’s leadership position.
  • Drive thought leadership initiatives, including industry events, executive roundtables, and strategic partnerships.
  • Act as a key liaison between APEX and industry stakeholders, regulatory bodies, and trade organizations.

The Toolbox (Qualifications)

 

  • 10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience, with a track record of scaling multi-million-dollar businesses in industrial, manufacturing, or adjacent sectors.
  • Proven success in managing distributor networks, national accounts, and enterprise sales.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience in pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and P&L ownership.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and aligning sales initiatives with broader corporate objectives.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field 
  • Prior experience in industrial tools, fastening solutions, or manufacturing equipment sales.
  • Strong executive presence and ability to influence senior decision-makers.
  • Experience working within a global sales environment, coordinating with teams across multiple regions.
  • 60% Travel
