The Blueprint (Role Profile)

Apex Tool Group is currently seeking a Director, MVI (Motor Vehicle Industry) Sales to join our North America Power Tools division. North America presents significant opportunities for MVI account expansion, driven by evolving customer needs, regulatory shifts, and technological advancements. Reporting to the Vice President, Sales for the Americas, the Director, Sales North America for Global Power Tools will be responsible for developing the market segment business strategy and ensuring execution of the strategy across the business in North America.

The Build (Responsibilities)

 

  • Develop and Grow New MVI Accounts in North America through target account identification, developing tailored solutions for potential customers, and relationship building tactics
  • Margin growth for overall business by implementing strategic pricing, product mix optimization, and customer segmentation 
  • Recruit, develop and retain a sales team, providing the tools and resources to enhance ongoing sales effectiveness; both for direct sales associates as well as agents 
  • Collaborate with Product Management to develop and launch new products while incorporating voice of customer insights into product design and enhancement
  • Partnering with Operations to streamline order processing, logistics and inventory management, while providing exemplary customer support 
  • Coordinate with marketing product management to ensure consistent brand messaging across all touchpoints, leveraging all available avenues to strengthen brand presence and drive engagement
  • Review of NA sales strategy and organization – Recommendation and execution of strategy that reduces cost of sales while increasing productivity
  • Establish marketing plan that focuses on growing sales of U-Guard, development of new products to gain share/accelerate growth, and VOC globally to determine product needs for next generation of Apex products

The Toolbox (Qualifications)

 

  • B.S. in Engineering or Business preferred 
  • 10+ years sales/commercial experience with industrial products in MVI, Aerospace and/or General Industry
  • Experience in managing a direct and indirect sales team
  • Experience in planning, developing and implementing long-term strategic initiatives/programs to maximize revenue and profitability
  • The ability to motivate and develop the skills of others and to develop strong working relationships throughout the organization.
  • Experience in working with Product Managers and R&D resources to develop customer and product requirements.
  • Approximately 50% travel to domestic and international locations (to our own development sites as well as customer visits)
