The Blueprint (Role Profile)
The Demand & Supply Planner, Private Label is a dynamic role responsible for linking demand forecasting with supply chain execution and detailed analytics for our Private Label brands. This hybrid position combines the strategic elements of forecasting and inventory management with the operational aspects of procurement and supplier management. The successful candidate will be a collaborative individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about driving efficiency and optimizing our supply chain. You will work closely with suppliers, manufacturing teams, internal sales teams, and external customers.
This role will be located in Sparks, MD or Apex NC. Occasional travel may be required, not expected to exceed 15% in each month.

The Build (Responsibilities)
- Plan, schedule, buy, and manage products to ensure availability at optimal cost and service level, while meeting or exceeding inventory expectations of assigned product groups/brands.
- Develop and maintain an 18-month rolling SKU-level forecast utilizing a combination of customer POS/Inventory data, historical demand trends, promotional plans, and new product introduction strategies.
- Manage the daily operations process including review of daily orders, forecast consumption, material shortages, demand variance, supply exposure, service level, and customer systems issues.
- Act as the primary point of contact for the supplier for all production related concerns, monitoring all issues from order placement to order delivery while promoting a positive image of Apex Tool Group.
- Utilize the Rapid Response (Kinaxis) planning system, Tableau reporting, and SAP/BW to manage the forecasting, inventory and analytics process.
- Significant customer collaboration providing data analytics and supply chain consultation.
- Manage weekly data uploads and work with large data sets to ensure data integrity and accuracy within planning systems.
The Toolbox (Qualifications)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, Statistics, Computer Science or a related field is required.
- 2+ years’ experience in Supply Planning or Demand Planning in a consumer’s products environment; experience specific to the tool industry or retail sales is preferred
- Experience with Demand Planning software and/or Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., Kinaxis, SAP/BW, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including pivot tables, advanced formulas, and data visualization) and experience with data analysis tools (Tableau).
- Experience with scripting and automation through programs like Alteryx and/or languages such as Python, R, Visual Basic, or PowerShell is a plus.
